- In some areas it can cause mild discomfort, especially on the nose and chin, where comedones tend to build up the most. We prepare the pores first so extraction is as comfortable as possible, and if anything bothers you, we adjust.
- When will I notice it and how long does it last?
- The same day, your skin already feels softer, fresher and cleaner. Since your skin keeps producing oil and dead cells, the result lasts a few weeks; your at-home routine helps extend it.
- Does my skin get red? Is there any recovery?
- Mild redness for a few hours is normal, especially where extraction was done. You don't need any recovery and you go back to your routine the same day; just avoid makeup that day and apply sunscreen.

What it is and how it works
Deep facial cleansing
Blackheads and whiteheads are pores clogged with oil and dead cells. In a deep cleansing, we treat them step by step: we check your skin, cleanse, exfoliate, prepare the pores and carefully extract the comedones, then apply a mask, hydrate and protect. Preparing before extraction reduces trauma, and finishing with a mask and hydration soothes the skin.
It works for oily, dry, combination or sensitive skin: what changes is the protocol. It's a good option if you have congested pores, dull skin or uneven texture, want regular care or are about to start other treatments. With very inflamed acne, sunburn, wounds or infection, after a recent peel or laser treatment, or if you use medications that make your skin sensitive, we assess you first.
The session lasts 60 to 90 minutes and you get back to your day right away. We recommend repeating it every 4 to 8 weeks. The price starts at $150.000.

- 01Whenever possible, arrive with clean skin: no makeup, creams, sunscreen or oils.
- 02Avoid retinoids and irritating products during the 3 to 5 days prior to treatment, including custom formulas, retinol, acids, exfoliating or strong lightening agents.
- 03Do not undergo chemical peels, laser treatments, facial hair removal, aggressive exfoliation or other irritating procedures during the 5 days prior.
- 04Avoid intense sun exposure or tanning before the procedure.
- 05Inform us if you have wounds, active infection, herpes, dermatitis, severe inflammatory acne, sunburn, known allergies or significant skin sensitivity.

After
- 01Do not squeeze blemishes or remove any scabs that may develop; allow your skin to heal naturally.
- 02Avoid touching, rubbing or manipulating your skin during the first 24 hours.
- 03Do not wear makeup during the first 12 to 24 hours, especially if your skin is sensitive.
- 04Avoid saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis, swimming pools and intense heat during the first 24 hours.
- 05Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen as recommended by your physician.
- 06Avoid direct sun exposure and reapply sunscreen throughout the day.
- 07Do not use retinoids, custom formulas, acids, exfoliating products or lightening agents for at least 3 days after treatment.

What's normal and what to expect
It is normal to experience redness, sensitivity, mild swelling, small red spots and mild burning sensation in extraction areas, as well as a feeling of freshness, tightness or mild dryness.
Results are usually seen progressively over the following days, with improvements in skin texture, radiance, smoothness, hydration and pore appearance.

How much does a deep facial cleansing cost?
At the clinic, a deep facial cleansing session starts at $150.000 COP. It includes an analysis of your skin type, a multi-step cleansing with extraction, a mask and hydration suited to your skin, and tips for caring for it at home.

How is it different from Hydrafacial?
In a deep cleansing, we work by hand and step by step; Hydrafacial, on the other hand, uses its technology to remove impurities with suction and deliver nutrients. Depending on your skin, we'll guide you toward one or the other.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Yes. It can be alternated with Hydrafacial, an intensive hydration facial or a porcelain facial, and it's a good way to prepare the skin for medical treatments. If you have acne, it can go hand in hand with the acne treatment recommended at your consultation.
Does it help if I have acne? Who is not a candidate?
If your acne is mild, it can help decongest the skin. If there is inflammation, we assess it first and recommend a medical treatment. It's also not recommended with sunburn, wounds or skin infection, or right after a peel or laser treatment.
