Before you decide

Is it right for you?

We tell you frankly when this treatment is a good option and when we'd rather assess you first.

Ideal if…

  • You feel the base of your nose looks wide
  • Your nostrils look wide from the front or when you smile
  • You want a subtle change, not a rhinoplasty
  • You want your nose to be in better harmony with your features

We assess you first if…

  • Your goal is to change the bridge or tip of your nose
  • There is an active infection in the area or you have healing problems
  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have uncontrolled medical conditions or a clotting disorder

Before you decide

The questions we hear most, answered straight.

Is it painful?
We use local anesthesia, so what you mainly feel is the anesthetic injection. Afterward there may be mild discomfort, which is managed with medical instructions.
How long does recovery take?
You can usually resume light activities within a few days. Stitches are removed 1 to 2 weeks later, while the swelling goes down.

How we do it at Quantum

A medical protocol, not a catalog

Every plan starts with a consultation: we listen to what you want to achieve, review your medical history and decide whether this treatment is right for you.

  1. 01

    Medical consultation

Before any treatment is applied, we review your case and explain what is possible and what isn't.

  2. 02

    D10 Facial Scanner

Everything starts with a consultation, not a catalog: we analyze your skin and scalp before recommending any treatment.

  3. 03

    Follow-up visit

We review the result with you and adjust the plan if needed.

What it is and how it works

Alarplasty (nostril reduction)

It's designed for people who feel the base of their nose looks wide from the front and throws off the harmony of their face, without needing a full rhinoplasty.

We make the incisions along the natural crease of the nose, so the scar is discreet.

Your session

Step by step

Here's how your treatment goes, from the consultation to the follow-up visit.

  1. 01

    Consultation and plan

We look at the proportion between your face and your nostrils, review your health and calculate how much tissue should be removed to achieve a natural-looking result.

    After a medical consultation

  2. 02

    Procedure under local anesthesia

We remove a small piece of tissue from the nostrils and close the wound with fine stitches placed in the natural crease of the nose.

    Approx. 1 hour

  3. 03

    Stitches and follow-up visits

We monitor healing, remove the stitches at the right time and support you while the swelling goes down.

    With follow-up visits afterward

Safety and natural results

Less is more

We want you to look like yourself, at your best. These are the criteria we follow in every session.

Original products registered with INVIMA

  • 01

    Careful planning

Tissue that's removed can't be put back. That's why we plan cautiously, to preserve the natural proportions of your nose.

  • 02

    Health reviewed first

Before scheduling the surgery, we review your medications, your blood clotting and your medical history.

  • 03

    Aseptic technique

We perform the procedure with aseptic technique and sterile materials.

  • 04

We support you while you heal

During the first few weeks of healing, we support you with follow-up visits and clear instructions on caring for the scar.

Frequently asked questions

We answer your questions

Have another question? Message us on WhatsApp and our medical team will answer.

How much does alarplasty cost?

Nostril reduction starts at $1.800.000 COP. First, during the consultation, we confirm that it's the right procedure for you.

Will there be a visible scar?

The incisions are hidden in the natural crease of the nose, which keeps the scar discreet. For the first few weeks it has a pinkish tone that fades as it matures with proper care.

What side effects should I expect?

During the first few days, some swelling, mild bruising, tenderness and a small scab over the wound are to be expected.

Is it the same as a rhinoplasty?

No. Alarplasty only reduces the width of the nostrils. To change your profile, we can assess you for non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Who can't have alarplasty?

We rule it out if there is an active infection in the area, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with clotting disorders, or with medical conditions that aren't under control.
