Before you decide
Is it right for you?
We tell you frankly when this treatment is a good option and when we'd rather assess you first.
Ideal if…
- Your earlobe tore from an earring or a tug
- Your piercing hole stretched from the weight of your earrings
- You wore gauges and now want to close your earlobe
- You'd like to wear earrings again without worry
We assess you first if…
- There's an active infection in your ear
- You tend to form keloids and haven't had it assessed
- You're pregnant or have uncontrolled medical conditions
Before you decide
The questions we hear most, answered straight.
- Is it painful?
- We use local anesthesia. You'll feel it being applied, and after that it's usually well tolerated.
- How long does recovery take?
- It's quick: you can usually get back to your routine soon, and we remove the stitches 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure.

What it is and how it works
Torn earlobe repair
An earlobe can split from a tug or stretch from the weight of earrings or from wearing gauges. During the repair, under local anesthesia, we fix the edges of the earlobe or stretched hole and close them with fine stitches. Once healed, and with your doctor's approval, you can pierce it again in a spot we choose together.
It's for anyone who wants to restore the shape of their earlobe and wear earrings again. Before surgery, we check that there's no infection in the ear and assess any tendency to form keloids; if you're pregnant or have uncontrolled medical conditions, we postpone it.
The procedure takes 30 to 60 minutes in a single session. Stitches are removed 1 to 2 weeks later, and you can see the result from then on. The price depends on the type of tear and whether one or both ears are treated, so we set it during your consultation, which includes stitch removal and a follow-up visit.
