What it is and how it works
Biostimulation threads
Polydioxanone (PDO) is an absorbable medical material that has been used in sutures for years. In the form of smooth threads, we place it in the skin with fine needles; during the months the body takes to absorb it, collagen forms around it. It has no lifting function: what changes, little by little, is how firm and healthy your skin looks.
It's a good option for a specific small or medium-sized area with mild sagging or low density, or to complement other rejuvenation treatments. To lift sagging tissue, there's the thread lift. We don't use them during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with infection, bleeding disorders or uncontrolled autoimmune diseases.
Depending on the number of threads, the session lasts 20 to 45 minutes, under topical or local anesthesia, and one session is usually enough. Afterward come a few days of aftercare and a follow-up visit. Plans are 10, 20 or 30 threads, and we quote the price at your consultation based on the area.

How much do biostimulation threads cost?
We quote it at your consultation based on the area to be treated and the number of threads: 10, 20 or 30.
How are they different from a thread lift?
Lifting threads have barbs that support and reposition tissue. Biostimulation threads have no barbs: they're smooth, activate collagen and add firmness, but they don't lift.
Does it hurt?
We use topical or local anesthesia. You'll feel pricks and pressure, which most patients tolerate well.
How long until I see results?
It's gradual: you'll notice it in the following weeks, and it keeps progressing while the thread is absorbed.
What side effects are possible?
Expect some swelling and tenderness, as well as small bruises that go away within a few days.
Can I combine them?
Yes. They can be combined with a thread lift, Long Lasting or other skin-quality treatments; we plan it with you at your consultation.
