We explain it on video

Before you decide

Is it right for you?

We tell you frankly when this treatment is a good option and when we'd rather assess you first.

Ideal if…

  • Your ears stick out a bit or have a "handle" shape
  • You notice one ear sticks out more than the other
  • You want to correct them without traditional surgery
  • You want a subtle change that looks natural
  • You need to get back to your routine soon, with no downtime

We assess you first if…

  • Your ears stick out very prominently or there are severe deformities (in that case, otoplasty is usually recommended)
  • You have an active infection in the area
  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a clotting disorder or are allergic to the materials used in the procedure

How we do it at Quantum

A medical protocol, not a catalog

Every plan starts with a consultation: we listen to what you want to achieve, review your medical history and decide whether this treatment is right for you.

  1. 01

    Medical consultation

Before any treatment is applied, we review your case and explain what is possible and what isn't.

  2. 02

    D10 Facial Scanner

Everything starts with a consultation, not a catalog: we analyze your skin and scalp before recommending any treatment.

  3. 03

    Follow-up visit

We review the result with you and adjust the plan if needed.

What it is and how it works

Thread ear pinning

Through tiny entry points, we place non-absorbable surgical threads that create a new fold in the cartilage: your ear sits closer to your head and in harmony with your face.

It's designed for slightly prominent ("bat") ears or ears that differ from one side to the other. If your case needs traditional otoplasty, we'll tell you during your consultation.

Your session

Step by step

Here's how your treatment goes, from the consultation to the follow-up visit.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We examine the shape of your ears, how much they stick out and your health history to confirm that the thread technique is right for you.

    After a medical consultation

  2. 02

    Design

We determine the number of threads and the angle of correction that best suit your face and your symmetry.

    A plan made for you

  3. 03

    Procedure

Under local anesthesia, we pass the permanent threads through small entry points and create the new fold of the ear. It's an outpatient procedure: you go home the same day.

    45 min to 1 hour

  4. 04

    Recovery and follow-up

You leave with written instructions. At two and a half months, we look forward to seeing you for your follow-up visit and reassessment.

Frequently asked questions

We answer your questions

Have another question? Message us on WhatsApp and our medical team will answer.

How much does otomodeling cost?

Ear correction starts at $2.300.000 COP, in a single procedure. It includes the consultation, the thread procedure under local anesthesia, your care instructions and the follow-up visit at two and a half months.

Is it the same as otoplasty?

No. Otoplasty is surgery with an incision behind the ear and is reserved for severe cases. Otomodeling repositions the ear with permanent threads, without surgery, without visible scars and with a shorter recovery.

How long does the procedure take?

Between 45 minutes and 1 hour, depending on how complex the case is. It's an outpatient procedure: you arrive and go home the same day.

Is it painful?

You don't feel pain during the procedure thanks to the local anesthesia. Afterward there may be discomfort or tightness, especially during the first 5 days, which eases until it disappears in about 2 months. If you feel a different kind of pain, let us know right away.

Is the change permanent?

Yes. The threads aren't absorbed and, as it heals, the internal tissue helps hold the cartilage in its new position.

When will I see the result?

Practically from the same day. The mild initial swelling goes down within a few days, and the result settles once healing is complete.

Are there scars, or do I need to wear a bandage?

There are no visible scars: the threads go in through very small points. The band is worn only for sleeping during the first week and, if you ride a motorcycle, under your helmet for a month; you don't need a bandage during the day.

Who can't have otomodeling?

We don't recommend it with very severe ear deformities, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with clotting disorders, active infections in the area or allergies to the materials. During your consultation, we guide you toward the most suitable option.
